Deepest Pain (Chapter 2)

Here you go, fans! The moment you've all been waiting for: Chapter 2 of my Maplestory fanfic!

Chapter 2- Mirror Child

The Black Mage retreats to his blackened lair to begin creating his deadly warrior. Little does he know that some of the monsters have disobeyed his orders to stay put and are going to attack Cygnus! He turns to address his monsters, and finds a small group is missing. "WHERE ARE THOSE DRIVELOUS PIGS!?" he yells. All the monsters who have fingers point towards the door, which is letting in tiny amounts of moonlight. "Bah! They're dead, anyway," says the Black Mage, closing the door.

Meanwhile, Cygnus has already received word that the Pigs were indeed attacking. She prepares her Knights for battle, and they charge at the Pigs, swords blazing through the white meat. A Pig charges at Cygnus, and she gasps. This pig is raving mad. The Pig lunges, and is almost immediately knocked aside by the Black Mage himself. Cygnus's eyes widen at the blackened figure. A Knight uses a nearby Light Stone to force the Mage to retreat. "Someday..." says the Black Mage, "Someday...I will claim the throne." Neinheart says with a smile, "I doubt it." The Black Mage disappears in a poof of smoke.

A few minutes later, Cygnus is reading the Ancient Book of Maple World when she hears someone knock at the door nearby. She hears scampering, and goes to investigate. She opens the door to find a small baby wrapped in a purple silk blanket and the Maple World logo embroidered on the back of the blanket. She smiles and takes the child in.
